Saturday Let the Games Begin

the start of a new memorial season is upon us.

saturday is the day for the start of the invites to look but not touch the bread and wine.

the "observer class" is a belief unique to jehovah's witnesses.. along with the invite to the masses a special effort is being made this year by the elders to invite all the df's, da's and faders.. along with the invite a copy of the rtj will be left with them.. naturally we will still be treated as pariah's if we do attend but it is the thought that counts.. i am of the "fader class" as i don't wish to rock the boat with my wife and extended family.

I was disfellowshipped sometime around September. ..to ne honest I'm not even sure when cos they didn't let me know when it was announced and as my partner was diagnosed with cancer I was dealing with that...my mother has refused to see me since then and my daughter has cut me off as per the rules

If they come near the house I would actually be afraid himself would punch them ! And he is not a violent man but his blood pressure soars at the mention.....

So do I play their game and go along this year and be treated like crap

What's a word that describes the way Witnesses behave as a group?

i can't recall the word that describes a group that keeps to itself like the witnesses do.

i thought it was "insular" but i don't think that's the one i'm looking for after reading the definition.

i remember an elder using the word "clannish" and that has the proper definition but it reminds me of a group of elves.

this is in response to the thread about the supposed suicide of a bethelite in 1995.. when i went to bethel i and everyone else, signed a form stating that "if we died while at bethel the wathtower bible and tract society,had the right to keep our body.".

yes, we thought it strange at the time but as a twenty years old you didn't think much about stuff like that.

besides we were never going to die anyway.

That reminds me of when my granny died when I was little my mum told me the cemetery didn't alow headstones so she couldn't have one. ...

When I grew up I rang to ask the cemetery why they didn't allow headstone and I think the girl tried not to laugh.....of course they allow them. ...

I'm guessin that mum fell somewhere between being a good JW who shouldn't worry abut headstonea because God will remember her mother and basicly basicly not wanting to waste money on one for us kids to visit the grave. ...

..... i was always under the impression that one of the reasons jws couldn't do jury duty or go to court etc was that we were not allowed to swear on the bible.

..as in i swear to tell the truth the whole truth etc etc .

I know this because when I was in court for my divorce I froze in fear because I had to swear on the bible and I actualy feared the elders would find out haha. ..

Anyway I was like super shocked watching the Australian commision and saw even the GB guardians of the doctrine swore on bible

....so like was I brought up told that lie or was anyone else under the same impression....
